Jesus Loves the Little Children

Hope Sunday

This fall, on October 21, as part of our series "Love Like Jesus," Lyle taught on Jesus love for the poor, specifically the poor who are children, "the least of these." The application was opportunities we have for child sponsorship in the Congo and South Sudan.

SPONSORSHIP CHANGES LIVES!

Child sponsorship transforms a life by providing basic necessities that help a child reach his or her God-given potential. Your gifts will provide access to things like:
*Clean water
*Better nutrition and agricultural assistance
*Bsic health care and immunizations
*School fees and materials
*Economic development opportunities

Covenant Kids Congo  is the first ever child sponsorship partnership between World Vision and an entire denomination, with a focus on clean water, nutrition, education, health, and microenterprise. And with an overhead rate of just 15%, our partner's commitment to the highest standards of stewardship and responsibility mirrors our own. (go to the CovKids Congo Website here)

Living Water Ministries has been working with Pioneers in Sudan for a number of years. Back in 1999 they opened a Boy's Orphanage and last year, 2011, the House of Hope, Girl's Orphanage, finally became a reality. They already have 14 girls living there, receiving health care, love and an education.

Both Congo Kids and House of Hope strive to demonstrate the love of Christ in all they do. They care for children and work to strengthen families and communities so children can be nurtured and guided into the fullest life possible - physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Today and every day, nearly 22,000 children will die, most from preventable causes such as hunger or treatable illnesses - things that sponsoring a child can prevent. By reaching out to a child in need, you can answer God's call to serve the poor. Child sponsorship demonstrates God's love by helping to fight poverty and create a future full of hope for children.
