XLSM (XL Student Ministries)

‘Having thus a fond affection for you all, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become so dear to us.” I Thessalonians 2:8

This verse is a foundation to the XLSM philosophy at Christ Church. It is our privilege and blessing to be used of God to share His message and His love with junior and senior high school students. There are many facets to ministry, but our primary role is forming relationships by sharing our lives with the students God entrusts to us. That is the basis on which ministry takes place.

“But as you EXCEL in everything – in faith, in knowledge, in all diligence and in your love for us, see that you EXCEL in God’s grace also.”  2 Corinthians 8:7

XL Student Ministries is about youth “excelling” in Christ.  We are dedicated to encouraging and enabling students to establish and build a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and to be effective witnesses for Him.

Deeper

Deeper is a worship time and Bible study for all teens who would like to have a growing relationship with God. Join us for fellowship, snacks, worship, Bible study and small group time together.  We meet on Wednesday nights from 6:15 – 8:30 during the school year. Sunday Morning Classes

Two Sunday school classes, one for junior high and one for senior high students, are offered during the 10:45 worship service.  Join other students and your teacher for Bible study and discussion. Classes are held in the Main Street building.

Retreats

XL students have several opportunities to attend retreats held in various locations during the fall and spring.  Once every three years we join thousands of other teens at CHIC (Covenant High in Christ), a week-long retreat held at the University of Tennessee.

Summer Xtreme Trips

Every year our teens are given the opportunity to participate in a week-long ministry trip. Junior and senior high trips are held separately. The junior high trip usually features a service project at a Christian camp. Senior high teens travel to an urban or rural area for evangelism and service opportunities.
