Sacraments + Celebrations

Sacraments involve ordinary material things that point beyond themselves to God the Creator.

God created the world and called it “good.”  God also took on human flesh (the “incarnation”)
launching Re-creation.  Jesus established two main sacraments: water baptism and Holy Communion
to be on-going in the life of His Body, the Church.

At Christ church, Baptism and Communion, are worship celebrations.  In addition, blessing a new child and consecrating a new marriage and other major life events - such as memorial services - are places where God meets us in special ways as a community of faith.
