Cheryl Lavornia, our Pastor of Spiritual Formation and Assimilation, began her ministry at Christ Church in 2008 as part of an internship as she finished her Masters of Divinity in Urban Ministry (May 2009) at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She has served in youth ministry and enjoyed challenging teens to grow in their faith through spiritual transformation . Cheryl also assisted her husband in a worship ministry by playing the piano/keyboard. She is committed to changing Christ-followers from biblical information seekers to people who desire transformational living as they meet God through interaction with the Bible. She also desires to develop people as they learn how God designed them and they use their passions to further the Kingdom of God. Cheryl is in constant learning mode as she researches church trends, ways to connect people to the church, and how the post-modern generation engages with the local church.
Cheryl and her husband Dean have two children- Brittany (away at college) and Benjamin (high school student).
